Two
contenders for FEI Children's Jumping Qualifier |

Madeleine Wilson from Al Fursan Stables and Sultan Ahmed Saleh
Al Tabali from Emirates Heritage Club were the only two
Category "A" riders who successfully completed the FEI
Children's International Jumping Qualifier competitions held
at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club on May 1 and 2,
2009. The two-day event for Category A and B riders featured a
total of 33 jumpers with 15 from the UAE alone. |

Madeleine, from the USA, was placed first after two days and
four rounds with eight faults and Sultan was placed second
with 40 faults. Madeleine partnered Carinio 7 and Sultan Ahmed
was riding Alba Sun. These results will be sent to the FEI,
the international equestrian body, which will decide, based on
the rankings, whether they are qualified for the finals to be
held in Abu Dhabi in December this year.
Unfortunately Alesha Ali Al Shami from the Sharjah Equestrian
Club and Abdul Rahman Ahmed Ameen from the Ajman Equestrian
Club were eliminated on the second day.
Apart from the FEI Children's Qualifier rounds, Sharjah
Equestrian Club also played host to the open events in Class
3, 4, and 7.
In Class 3 Open (One Round Against Clock) Ahmed Rahman Al
Abdouli from the Sharjah Equestrian Club finished first riding
BaShair (52.01 seconds). Second and third places in this
category respectively went to Juma'a Mohammed Al Romaithi from
Emirates Heritage Club (Leelo, 55.12 secs) and Eman Ahmed Al
Muhairi from the Sharjah Equestrian Club (Mozart, 60.42 secs).
There were as many as 43 jumpers in the field in this category
and eight jumpers were placed and 16 of them withdrew.
In Class 4 Open (Take Your Own Line), Hamad Ali Al Kirbi from
the Sharjah Equestrian Club finished first riding Lieba (44.44
secs) and Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi won the second and fourth
places (Sharjah Equestrian Club, 44.75 and 48.32 secs). Abdel
Rahman S. Al Kaabi finished third on Henreb (47.58 secs).
In the Class 7 Open (Two Phases), with a field of 51 jumpers
Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi from the Sharjah Equestrian Club came
first riding Natalie 079 (26.74 secs). Both the second and
third places were clinched by Hamad Ali Al Kirbi, also from
the Sharjah Equestrian Club ( 26.75 secs and 27.41 secs). |
